Marie-Laure S. Romney, MD, MBA, is Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer at New York-Presbyterian Children’s Hospital of New York. In this role, Dr. Romney is responsible for strategy, pediatric services, pediatric operational standards and programs at NYP Morgan Stanley, NYP Komansky, and across all NYP hospitals, while having operational oversight of New York-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Romney joined NYP in 2018, and most recently served as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at NYP Lower Manhattan Hospital, where she managed day-to-day operations, oversaw operating and capital budgets, and implemented clinical strategy, and as Vice President of Operations at NYP/Columbia. She also served as Vice Chair of Quality and Patient Safety at Columbia University Department of Emergency Medicine.
Prior to joining Columbia, Dr. Romney served as Director of Quality, Continuous Improvement and Patient Safety in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Kings County Hospital Center and as Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.
Dr. Romney holds an undergraduate degree from Cornell University, a medical degree from Rutgers University Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
