Janis Smith-Gomez, MBA, is Retired Vice President of Global Brand Experience for Johnson & Johnson MedTech, where she led strategic branding, positioning its global organization, devices and science for competitive advantage and market leadership. Janis was previously VP of US Marketing at Ethicon. In addition to her 15 years at J&J, she also drove exceptional results at Mars, Kraft Foods, and PepsiCo  companies. Janis brings visionary commercial and marketing expertise and is a successful growth leader, talent champion, accomplished innovator and value creator.

In January 2026 Janis was appointed Chair of the Board of The Honey Pot Company, a prominent feminine care brand and subsidiary of Compass Diversified, where she has been an Independent Director since 2024. She is also an Independent Director of the Board for Envoy Medical, a hearing health company since 2023. Janis serves as a Marketing Executive 50 Advisor, part of World 50, a private community for senior-most executives from globally respected organizations to intimately share ideas, solutions and collaborative discovery.

Janis is a member of the Executive Leadership Council (ELC), a national organization comprising current and former Black CEOs and senior executives at Fortune 1000 companies who are focused on building an inclusive business leadership pipeline to positively impact business and communities.

Janis holds a BA from the University of Chicago and an MBA in Marketing and Business Policy from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
