Dr. Carolyn Clancy

Senior Research Scholar

Carolyn Clancy, MD, MACP is the former Acting Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, former Director of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), and former Chief Academic Officer of the Veterans Health Administration. A member of the National Academy of Medicine, Dr. Clancy helped shape national policy on healthcare quality, patient safety, health services research, and health equity, while leading major initiatives in mental health, precision oncology, opioid stewardship, and care delivery innovation for millions of veterans.
