Senior Program Officer

Alexandra Kamler is a Senior Program Officer at the Center for Evaluation and Applied Research (CEAR). Her projects utilize a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods focused on a range of issues including chronic disease prevention, HIV, mental health, and community health needs, which are implemented by hospitals, community-based organizations, and health departments. Ms. Kamler is also practiced in developing and conducting public deliberations, a methodology used for meaningful community engagement on topics that cannot be solved through technical solutions alone. Fluent in Spanish, she has worked in reproductive and sexual health in New York City, conducting research, and in Latin America teaching sexual health education. Prior to joining CEAR, Ms. Kamler worked at the Center for Latino Adolescent and Family Health at New York University, researching evidence-based interventions to decrease risk for HIV among Latinos in the U.S. and Latin America. Ms. Kamler holds a BA from the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University, an MPH from the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Public Health Leadership from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
