Historical Note
The New York Clinical Society has met on a regular basis since the first meeting on May 2, 1877 at the home of Dr. Frank P. Foster. Detailed minutes were recorded including synopses of papers presented. Member obituaries are often included in minutes. “Its object shall be the consideration of medical and surgical topics in their clinical and therapeutical [sic] aspects, and incidentally the cultivation of social intercourse among its members.”

Scope and Content
The collection includes minutes in bound handwritten notebooks (Vols. 1-5) and loose pages; announcements; correspondence; treasurer’s reports; members, presidents and officers lists; copy of constitution and by-laws; and attendance records.

Arrangement
Original order has been maintained.
