Mission Statement

The Center for Healthy Aging (CHA) works to advance the health and well-being of aging populations through research, policy, and programmatic innovations. CHA contributes to immediate and long-term systemic improvements to ensure health equity and optimal health for today’s older adults and for generations to come.

Our Approach

CHA focuses on the following critical elements of optimizing health and well-being for older adults, including:

  • Ensuring social, environmental, and technological supports exist to enable and foster aging-in-community.
  • Promoting culturally and linguistically competent services.
  • Expanding use of an age-inclusive lens within the healthcare system.
  • Strengthening individual and community resilience to address national and global challenges.

We take a multidisciplinary approach to informing and shaping programs and policies that impact older adults and caregivers, including:

  • Conducting research to shape city, state, and federal policy.
  • Convening stakeholders to exchange information and foster cross-sector collaboration.
  • Using and promoting a data-driven and evidence-based approach to planning and decision-making.
  • Providing strategic assistance for program delivery and policy implementation.
