In addition to welcoming our 2024 cohort of new Fellows, Members and Student Members, and presenting our annual awards to the outstanding individuals below, we were also pleased to welcome our discourse speaker Jesse M. Ehrenfeld, MD, MPH, Immediate Past President of the American Medical Association. Dr. Ehrenfeld delivered a timely discourse: “Intentional Innovation: Using Technology to Improve Health for All”.
Dr. Ehrenfeld’s address explored how strategic technological advancements, including AI, robotics, and telehealth can drive us toward achieving true health equity on a local, national, and global scale. A leading voice in surgical safety and patient outcomes and passionate advocate for LGBTQ+ health equity, Dr. Ehrenfeld previously served as co-chair of the Navy Surgeon General’s Taskforce on Personalized and Digital Medicine and is currently a consultant to the World Health Organization Digital Health Technical Advisory Group.
