Amira Gertz, MPA is the Director of Events and Conferences. In her role she oversees the development and implementation of internal and external stakeholder events, primarily aimed at advancing public health and policy. With a robust background in event management and a deep passion to better our world, Amira has boosted NYAM’s visibility and engagement through her strategic leadership.
Before joining NYAM, Amira was the Director of Catering, Events, and Private Dining at various New York venues. She excelled in managing large-scale events, leading national teams, and developing innovative growth strategies. Additionally, Amira has guest lectured and been an adjunct professor in the Tisch Center for Hospitality at NYU. Her expertise in event operations and optimization has been invaluable in her current role.
Amira holds a BS in Hospitality Administration from New York University and an MPA from Northeastern University. She is also an active volunteer for food-security causes in her community. Amira resides in Manhattan and enjoys walking the boardwalk in her free time.
