Join us for FIRE’s 2023 Showcase of Nursing Doctoral Student Research. FIRE stimulates ideas and nurtures collaborations through social and academic discourse.

Theme: Highlighting innovation in nursing research science and clinical practice 

Objectives for the Showcase:

• Create awareness of the depth and breadth of student research and leadership activities across institutions in the region that may complement and enhance one another;
• Break down silos across disciplines and institutions and replace them with collaborative efforts;
• Share passions for research and scholarship among doctoral students and faculty across institutions;
• Share ideas and lessons learned in a socially engaging and stimulating environment.

Evening Agenda:

6:45 PM - 7:45 PM              Oral Presentations and Panel Discussion 

7:45 PM - 8 PM                   Presentation of Awards and Closing

About the NYAM Section on Nursing and FIRE

The Nursing Section of The New York Academy of Medicine is an active community of NYAM Fellows, Members and Students that include scholars, academics, researchers, and executives. One of the many goals of the Nursing Section is to promote the development of aspiring nurse leaders in the discipline and developing skills through opportunities that bring Fellows and Members together with doctoral students for mentoring the next generation to advance health in our region. The FIRE (Forum on Inter-Collegiate Regional Events for Nursing Doctoral Students and Faculty) Showcase hopes to stimulate ideas and nurture collaboration of doctoral student work.
