Department Summary:

Marketing & Communications is responsible for management of the NYAM brand, developing and implementing organization-wide and individual unit strategic marketing and public relations initiatives as well as management of all digital properties including websites, social media and email. As an integral part of the public engagement efforts of NYAM, Marketing & Communications also contributes to creating engaging events and experiences for NYAM constituencies under the direction of Director of Marketing & Communications. Marketing & Communications also supports growth and management of key strategic alliances that further NYAMs mission.

Position Summary/Overview:

Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Communications, the Digital Manager fills a critical planning and operational role in the development and execution of New York Academy of Medicine’s digital ecosystem including website, integration of microsites, email communications, CRM-Integrated workflows, and analytics. The Digital Manager has strong technical skills, the ability to both plan and execute digital strategies, is a creative problem solver and has a track record of team contributions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Manage and administer the NYAM web presence, including the organization’s main site, the integration of historic programmatic micro-sites, and ad hoc digital publications.

· Oversee WordPress functionality Including templates, plugins, user workflows, and vendor collaboration.

· Implement and maintain SEO and accessibility best practices across all digital platforms.

· Cross functional collaboration & strategy. Collaborate with key stakeholders across divisions to plan and implement digital solutions across web, email, CRM, and events.

· Manage constituency bulk email efforts including email creation/programming, scheduling/deployment, list building/management and tracking results.

· Develop and optimize email approach through segmentation, A/B testing, and performance measurement.

· Ensure integration between Salesforce, email marketing systems, and event registration tools.

· Working collaboratively with IT and key stakeholders for email list creation and maintain accurate user data flows between digital platforms

· Create and manage multimedia content including image slideshows, video uploads & embeds, audio files & embedded web content.

· Responsible for tracking, reporting and maintaining records of website, email and campaign performance.

· Leverage AI and predictive analytics to Identify growth opportunities, improve audience targeting, and increase marketing efficiency.

· Lead digital analytics across GA4, Tag Manager, CRM, and email platforms, translating insights into actional recommendations.

· Play an integral role in Communications & Marketing team, providing insights on goal/plan development and execution in addition to the day-to-day functions of the position.

· Manage external web agency and liaise with other digital consultants as required.

· Support colleagues by sharing digital best practices and fostering a collaborative, mission-aligned team culture.

Qualifications:

· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in digital management and a bachelor’s degree required.

· Other requirements include experience with CMS management with strong proficiency in WordPress; experience with modern email management and delivery systems; experience with CRM integration such as Salesforce; experience with Google Analytics & Google Tag Manager; and experience with SEO and digital optimization best practices across platforms.

· Experience with Office Suite applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

· Ability to work independently, move projects from strategy to concept, through launch and optimization, and handle multiple and often competing deadlines.

· Demonstrated ability to provide digital recommendations to stakeholders with varying technical expertise.

· Strong management, verbal and communications skills with the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.

· Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills required

· Strong problem solving, conceptual, technical, and interpersonal skills required.

· Ability to maintain and communicate digital metrics, results, and recommendations to stakeholders with different levels of technical expertise.

· Demonstration of progressively responsible positions and a track record of success desired.

· Staff NYAM public programming in-person, virtual and public events when necessary and collaborate on occasional intradepartmental initiatives and additional tasks/responsibilities as assigned.

This position is based in New York City. Staff work in a hybrid environment with some flexibility, pending the needs of the department. The current expectation of this position is a minimum of two days a week on-site, in addition to staff or organizational events.

Compensation:

NYAM offers competitive benefits, generous paid time off and holidays, professional development opportunities, and a flexible work environment. The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $95,000 commensurate with experience.
