Zoelene  Hill,  PhD

Zoelene Hill is a mixed methods researcher whose areas of expertise include maternal health and early childhood policies, early childhood workforce development and family and community engagement. Zoelene collaborates with community residents and community-based organizations to improve child and family health and well-being by supporting existing strengths in communities and developing robust research evidence to advocate for program and policy changes. Working with East Harlem residents, Zoelene co-developed the Resident-led Research Policy and Power (RRPP) a tool for guiding conversations to uplift community voices in research and policy conversations.

Before joining NYAM, Zoelene was a Research Scientist at Child Trends in the Early Childhood Division. She worked on local, state, and federal projects promoting equitable access to early care and education services and supporting the early care and education workforce.

Zoelene earned her Ph.D. at the Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University and has a masters in Education Policy and Management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
