HD4NYC provides support for accessing Health Department data above and beyond publicly available resources for HD4NYC investigators through dedicated HD4NYC staff and connection to relevant Health Department programs. HD4NYC staff assist HD4NYC investigators in navigating data access protocols like DOHMH IRB approval/exemption, onsite data access, Data Use Agreements, and data checking.
The Health Department collects data that cover the life span, including:
- Vital statistics (birth and death records)
- Surveillance data (including disease registries)
- Clinical data (including emergency department discharge data)
- Survey data (phone, web, and in-person)
