HD4NYC is based on a research working group model demonstrated to promote collaborative research and career development. Working groups promote the combination of multi-institutional collaboration, access to data, and mentorship. This unique combination of resources, people, and expertise advances policy-relevant health equity research.
HD4NYC working groups include early- and mid-career academic and Health Department investigators and are led by senior mentors.
The initial two working groups focused on birth and childhood equity and the health of marginalized populations. A new working group on COVID-19 health inequities has been added in HD4NYC's third year.
