The Long-term Care Advisory Committee is a group of Fellows with a wide-ranging expertise on long-term care issues. Convened in 2014 and chaired by Dr. Joan Leiman, the Committee is working to improve the long-term care system in New York State in collaboration with the Division of Health Policy.

In 2015, the Academy conducted a gap analysis of the present capacity and future demand for long-term care services; this project was overseen by the Advisory Committee and funded by The New York Community Trust. The Academy and Advisory Committee are currently prospecting for funds for phase two of the project, a series of policy briefs with actionable recommendations to improve the quality and infrastructure of long-term care in New York State.
