Mission Statement
The Center for Healthy Aging (CHA) works to advance the health and well-being of aging populations through research, policy, and programmatic innovations. CHA contributes to immediate and long-term systemic improvements to ensure health equity and optimal health for today’s older adults and for generations to come.
Our Approach
CHA focuses on the following critical elements of optimizing health and well-being for older adults:
- Ensuring access to social, environmental, and technological supports that enable and foster aging-in-community.
- Promoting culturally and linguistically competent services.
- Expanding the use of an age-inclusive lens within the healthcare system.
- Strengthening individual and community resilience to address national and global challenges
We take a multidisciplinary approach to informing and shaping programs and policies that impact older adults and caregivers, including:
- Conducting research and disseminating findings to shape city, state, and federal policy.
- Convening stakeholders to exchange information and foster multisector collaboration.
- Using and promoting a data-driven and evidence-based approach to planning and decision-making.
- Developing creative programs at the intersection of public health, arts, and humanities to elevate key aging topics
- Providing strategic assistance for program delivery and policy implementation.
