East Harlem Information Outreach Project: Designed to enhance information acess and technology capacity for all community-based organizations in the East Harlem community. All unaffiliated not-for-profit health and social services organizations in the community of East Harlem are eligible and invited to participate in the Outreach Program. Through the Outreach Project, The New York Academy of Medicine Library offers library and web services to participating organizations.
Evidence-based Medicine Resource Center: Contains references, bibliographies, tutorials, glossaries, and on-line databases to guide those embarking on teaching and practicing evidence-based medicine.
Grey Literature Report: A bimonthly publication alerting readers to new grey literature publications in health services research and select public health topics.
HealthLessons.org: HealthLessons.org provides teachers with free access to high quality health education lesson plans. The site brings together the best K-12 health lesson plans on the internet, drawing from more than 25 websites. The goal of HealthLessons.org is to improve health education and dissemination of health information to America's elementary, middle, and high school students. The project is an initiative of The New York Academy of Medicine, developed by the Academy's Division of Information Management and the Office of School Health Programs.
HIV/AIDS Information Outreach Project: Puts community based AIDS organizations in touch with our extensive medical research collection. It is founded on the premise that information will support and strengthen those people affected by HIV/AIDS and those who work to provide for their needs.
Jr. Fellows Program: A collaboration between the Academy’s Office of School Health Programs and Library, which introduces urban middle and high school students to current issues in health, science, medicine and medical research and engages them in conducting independent research in these areas.
The Library at Settlement Health: Settlement Health has provided high-quality, comprehensive primary health care services to East Harlem since 1977. The Settlement Health Library aims to provide patients and clinicians with access to up-to-date health information. The library project is funded by a grant from the National Library of Medicine and supported by staff from The New York Academy of Medicine.
NOAH-New York Online Access to Health: A web-based project that offers reliable and unbiased consumer health information in English and Spanish. Librarians and health professionals in New York and beyond find, select, and organize freely available full-text consumer health information that is current, relevant, accurate and unbiased.
Resource Guide for Public Health Preparedness: A gateway to freely available online resources related to public heath preparedness. Resources include expert guidelines, factsheets, websites, research reports, articles, and other tools aimed at the public health community.
