As part of its mission to enhance the health of the public, the Academy Library offers a variety of health literacy classes.

General Information
All classes are open to the general public and designed to provide basic, introductory information. The classes are aimed primarily at beginning or novice researchers or library professionals seeking a “refresher” course. Requirements, policies, and fees are below:

  • Basic knowledge of how to use a computer and a mouse is required. These classes are not introductions to computers, or to the Internet.
  • Class size is limited to 10 registrants per session.
  • Pre-registration required.
  • Classes are free of charge.

Cancellation Policy Please be on time. If there are no students present 15 minutes after the scheduled start time, class will be cancelled. No exceptions.

Create a Class!
If you can get a minimum group of 5 people together, the Academy Library will schedule a special session of one of our health literacy classes. The class must be scheduled at least 30 days in advance. Please contact the Education and Outreach Coordinator at (212) 822-7323.
