OBJECTIVES:

The World Health Organization and The International Society for Urban Health at The New York Academy of Medicine invite you to discuss the linkages between health, SDGs and the Habitat III New Urban Agenda.

A recent Expert Group Meeting has addressed how health can be a driver and a pulse to track progress in the Habitat III New Urban Agenda, drawing on the linkages across health and the SDGs. The expert group was convened by WHO, the governments of Norway and of Ghana, the UN University International Institute for Global Health in Kuala Lumpur, the International Council of Science and the International Society for Urban Health.

During this event we will present the recommendations of the Expert Group for the Habitat III text, and draw the connections that exist between health and urban development across SDGs. The event will present how advancing urban health can promote these linkages, tracking the human benefits of achieving urban sustainable development and many other SDGs.
