The Academy provides programmatic evaluation services through its Center for Evaluation and Applied Research (CEAR) at the request of a wide range of national and local health and community-based organizations focused on individual and population health. Recent projects examine issues related to: nutrition and physical activity, diabetes prevention and care, HIV/AIDS care, asthma, maternal and infant health, substance abuse treatment, immigrant health, practice change in healthcare settings, education and the training of the health and social services workforce, reducing racial and ethnic health disparities, and aging.

In each project, we work with a range of stakeholders—program staff, administrators, funders, community members, and others—to help them identify strengths and weaknesses and to use preliminary and final evaluation findings for quality improvement purposes.
