Michael Botsko

Michael Botsko, MSW, M.Phil. is a Research Associate/Statistician at the Center for Urban Epidemiologic Studies (CUES). He is a graduate of the Columbia University School of Social Work where he was awarded a Training Research Fellowship grant from the National Institute of Mental Health. He has since obtained post-graduate training in advanced statistical modeling from New York University. Mr. Botsko has extensive research/evaluation experience in the areas of child welfare, adoption, family practice, preservation and preventive services, school readiness and student attrition, HIV/AIDS, mental retardation/developmental disability, homelessness, health care policy and primary health care practice in which he served as a principal investigator, senior program evaluator, methodologist, statistician, teacher and trainer. He has direct practice experience in family preservation/preventive services, child welfare, housing and corrections. He has authored and co-authored books, monographs, reports and peer reviewed publications in his fields of practice.
