The 2016 conference will be held in two parts:
•    April 1-2: Symposium on Geography and Urban Health, jointly organized by the International Society for Urban Health and the Association of American Geographers
•    April 3-4: International Conference on Urban Health: Place and Health, organized by the International Society for Urban Health

The joint Symposium on Geography and Urban Health will highlight national and international cross-disciplinary approaches for enhancing collaboration in team science, technology transfer, designs for urban health, and advancing global urban health. Sessions with strong appeal to both health geographers and urban health, population health and related researchers and practitioners are geared toward sharing ideas, findings, methodologies, and technologies, and to establish and strengthen personal connections, communication channels, and research collaborations.

The overarching theme of the 2016 International Conference on Urban Health is Place and Health. We welcome national and international scholars, educators, practitioners, policymakers, and institutions in health and related sectors to (i) share findings, methodologies, and technologies and (ii) to strengthen and create research and education collaborations focusing on the urban environment as an important “place” in population health research, interventions, and policies.
