Learner Outcomes: Upon completion of the activity, participants will know the legal status of adolescents in the NY state courts and the various issues of adolescent developmental competency. The participants will be knowledgeable about the differing alternatives for adolescents within the judicial system and
understand how the developmental understanding will impact placement after
adjudication.
Target Audience: Psychiatrists, pediatricians, psychologists, social
workers and others who interface with adolescents in legal settings.
