Our City Partners 

On July 19, 2017, Mayor de Blasio released the City's New Age-friendly NYC Commitments (2017) detailing the efforts of City agencies, as well as the Age-friendly NYC Commission, to improve the quality of life for older New Yorkers.

In 2015, Age-friendly NYC was included as an initiative of OneNYC, the City’s strategic plan for growth, sustainability, resilience, and equity.

This work continues to build upon the 59 strategic initiatives of the New York City Action Plan for an Age-friendly NYC developed in 2009 by then City Council Speaker Christine Quinn and Mayor Michael Bloomberg to improve:

  • Community and Civic Participation
  • Housing
  • Public Spaces and Transportation  
  • Health and Social Services
