Age-friendly Neighborhoods

The Age-Friendly Neighborhoods Initiative (formerly known as Aging Improvement Districts) builds upon the rich experiences of older adults to transform NYC neighborhoods into welcoming and inclusive places for people of all ages.

Funded in part by the New York City Council, the Age-friendly Neighborhood Initiative engages older adults and local stakeholders, including local businesses, non-profit organizations, cultural, educational and religious institutions, and city officials, to make low and no-cost improvements to maximize the social and economic participation of older New Yorkers.
