Mark L. Wagar

In Memoriam

On March 1, NYAM lost one of our strongest supporters and friends, Trustee, Mark L. Wagar.  Over his 14-year service on our Board, Mark selflessly gave his time, expertise, and advice, leading NYAM to new heights of excellence.

He embodied generosity, kindness, and a commitment to the common good.  In addition to a storied career in health care, Mark dedicated himself to causes he cared about, including public health, health equity, and youth mentoring.  As Mark’s family said, “He was known for his vibrant personality, mischievous sense of humor, and zest for life.”  He will be greatly missed by NYAM, and by countless others.  

Our thoughts are with the Wagar family, especially his wife, Ellen, and son, Bret.
